Diagram & Flowchart for RF Shooter Interaction

I've created a diagram and flowchart (which I will explain in detail during class) to show how the RF shooter will interact with the Spy Station and Security System.

Possible Solution to the Tag Dilema

Ok, I have a possible solution:

Tags are only awarded at stations which will act as dispensers. From a logistical standpoint, Erin is right. I still think the RF shooter should shoot tags. Every tag the station dispenses will look exactly the same, from the outside. So, when an agent picks up a tag, they will have no idea who left the tag there. They will need to use a station to decode the message to determine its validity or if there isn't enough time, they can chance it and take the tags message and run with it.

I think we need to think of this game in terms of team members. In order to play the game, there must be at least 4 players with at least 2 on each team. In an museum environment, this should not be difficult to accomplish.

Each agent can reprogram a tag they received from a station to contain a helpful valid clue or a misleading invalid message. They would use the RF shooter to accomplish this. Agents on the same team can either decide to send helpful messages to their teammates or misleading information to divert an enemy agent.

Divison of work for the coming weeks

Marilyn: Working on station & game scenarios

Erin: Working on wallet & watch interface

Andrew: Working on RF shooter & layout of 3D physical space

All will work on flow diagrams, use scenarios, and interface designs for each device. We will work towards having all of our prototype materials ready for the next meeting with KidsTeam. Ideally, all materials will be ready a week prior in order to make sure we have everything necessary.

Individual Research Focus

I plan to research the technologies surrounding our new game concept. Based on our meeting with the kids team, we discovered that they take great enjoyment from shooting things. We decided to use this concept to develop the RF Shooter, a device that would be capable of shooting RF tags. There will also be a series of spy-related devices which would take advantage of RF technology. We will develop these devices based on the game concept as well as the appropriateness for this age group.

International Spy Museum

Please take a look at the International Spy Museum website. Hopefully, we can generate some new ideas based on the exhibits they currently have.

Researching RFID

Our group is currently researching RFID technology and several of its potential applications. We plan to meet briefly before or after class on Saturday to discuss our ideas for the project.
